MOVA’s two flagship robot vacuums just picked up a 2026 Red Dot Award for Product Design, thanks to a mix of strong cleaning specs, thoughtful hardware, and app features built around real-world home use. The winners are the MOVA Z500 and MOVA S1, both aimed at people who want automated cleaning without a lot of babysitting or extra gadgets. The focus is on suction power, edge and corner cleaning, easy emptying, and intelligent mapping so the bots don’t wander randomly.

The MOVA Z500 is the more advanced of the two, built for people who want a “set it and forget it” system. It combines vacuuming and mopping in one unit and uses a self-emptying base so you are not dumping the dustbin after every run. The Z500 also comes with what MOVA calls its “Ultimate Cleaning Suite,” a group of features designed to handle everything from daily dust to heavier messes across mixed flooring. The design that caught the Red Dot jury’s attention is meant to balance a clean, modern look with practical touches like an easy-to-access dustbin and clear layout of sensors.

Suction power is one of the main selling points. The Z500 is rated at 5,000 Pa of suction, which is on the higher end for consumer robot vacuums and helps it pull dirt out of carpets as well as off hard floors. A floating roller brush keeps close contact with the floor while adjusting to small height changes, which helps it pick up more debris along baseboards and in corners. Multiple cleaning modes allow users to choose between quiet, standard, and stronger suction levels depending on the time of day or how dirty the space is. The goal is to cut down on manual vacuuming, especially in high-traffic areas and homes with pets.

Navigation and mapping are another area where MOVA is trying to stand out. The Z500 uses smart mapping to scan and map the layout of your home, then builds an efficient cleaning route instead of moving randomly. Through the MOVA app, owners can see a map of their rooms, set virtual “no-go” zones, and schedule cleaning by room or by area. The robot also adjusts suction power based on the surface, turning up on carpets and dialing back on hard floors to save battery while still picking up dust and pet hair.

The MOVA S1, the second Red Dot winner, is designed as a more compact, everyday model while still sharing a lot of the same design thinking. It also combines vacuuming and mopping, but focuses even more on a slim body that can fit under low furniture and into tighter spaces. The S1 uses a similar smart mapping system and is controlled through the same MOVA app, so users can send it to clean specific rooms or block off sensitive spots like kids’ play areas or pet bowls. The design emphasizes simple controls, clear indicator lights, and easy maintenance for people who do not want to deal with complicated docks or multi-part systems.

Both models tie their hardware design closely to real-life use, which is a big reason they were recognized by Red Dot. The bases are shaped to sit neatly against a wall without taking over a hallway or entryway. Dustbins and water tanks are designed to be removed with one hand, and the overall look is clean and minimal so the robots blend in instead of looking like industrial equipment. MOVA positions these two cleaners as proof that you can pack in strong suction, smart navigation, and app control without turning a home gadget into an eyesore. For shoppers, the Red Dot awards signal that these vacuums are not just about power on paper but also about how they fit into daily routines and real homes.
