Reolink’s new OMVI 2i Ultra wireless security camera is now on sale in the U.S., combining dual-view coverage, solar charging, and smart tracking without locking features behind a subscription. First unveiled at IFA 2026, the all-in-one camera is designed to cover driveways, yards, entrances, and side spaces with fewer devices and simpler installation. It is available on Amazon and Reolink.com in the U.S. as part of the company’s award-winning OMVI Series of wire-free, solar-powered security products.
Dual-View Coverage and SyncTrack Tracking
The OMVI 2i Ultra combines dual-view coverage and intelligent SyncTrack Tracking in a bullet-PTZ design to deliver smarter protection and greater visibility. An 8MP (4K) wide-view camera keeps the full scene in frame, while a 5MP (3K) pan-tilt camera (355° pan and 55° tilt) watches another direction and zooms in to follow people, vehicles, or animals it detects. You can also tap anywhere on the wide view to point the pan-tilt camera at that spot.
SyncTrack smart tracking is designed to keep moving subjects in frame while maintaining broader situational awareness. By pairing this with dual views, the camera aims to reduce blind spots around homes such as long driveways, backyards, and side walkways. Reolink first showed this dual-view design at IFA 2026, alongside its AI Home Hub 2.
Wire-Free, Solar-Powered Design
The OMVI 2i Ultra is wire-free and solar-powered, combining a detachable 10,000mAh battery with a built-in 6W solar panel. According to Reolink, the camera can reach up to 6 months of battery life on one full charge, based on 5 minutes of recording per day plus standby. Reolink says the panel keeps the camera running on just 30 minutes of daily sunlight, cutting down on manual recharging.
This design is aimed at users who want flexible placement around their property without running power cables. The bullet-PTZ form factor and solar panel make it suitable for outdoor areas that get sun during the day. Reolink pitches this as a way to simplify installation and long-term upkeep for home security.
No Subscription Needed for Features
Reolink states that the OMVI 2i Ultra delivers an advanced, feature-rich experience without requiring any subscription or monthly fees. The company notes that “all features are available without a subscription or monthly fees.” Users can access the camera’s dual views, SyncTrack smart tracking, and other functions without paying extra after purchase.
This approach leans on local and hub-based storage options instead of forcing cloud plans. For buyers who want a one-time purchase with no ongoing costs for core features, the OMVI 2i Ultra is positioned as a straightforward option.
Smart Home Compatibility and Storage Options
The press release lists Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant compatibility. Reolink’s product page describes asking Google Assistant to show the feed on a Google Nest Hub or Chromecast-enabled TV, while its Alexa section, for showing video on an Echo Show, Echo Spot, or Fire TV, carries a “Coming Soon” label.
For storage, the camera supports local recording to a microSD card up to 512GB, so users can keep footage on the device itself. It also works with a Reolink Home Hub series unit, which can centralize video from multiple cameras. This gives users a choice between on-camera storage and hub-based storage.
What You Need
To use the OMVI 2i Ultra, Reolink specifies a few basic requirements. For local video recording, you need either a microSD card up to 512GB or a Reolink Home Hub series unit as the storage destination. For power, the solar panel needs a spot that gets sunlight so it can keep the detachable battery charged.
With these pieces in place, the OMVI 2i Ultra is intended to work as a standalone, wire-free security option that covers wide outdoor areas, uses dual-view and SyncTrack Tracking for smarter monitoring, and delivers all its features without a subscription or monthly fees.
