Apple is teaming up with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric on a new Apple Home Collection, a set of smart home accessories that plug directly into the Apple Home experience. The lineup covers security cameras, a smart deadbolt lock, thermostats, and room sensors, all managed in the Home app with no extra apps or accounts. Setup starts with a single tap using NFC on an iPhone, and every device supports Thread to stay connected if Wi-Fi drops, and Wi‑Fi details update automatically if you change networks. Home data in the app is end‑to‑end encrypted, so neither Apple nor its partners can read it.

LG Cameras Built for Apple Home

The new LG cameras in Apple Home Collection focus on detailed video, smart detection, and tight ties to Apple’s ecosystem. The lineup includes a wired Video Doorbell, a Floodlight Cam, an Outdoor Cam, and an Indoor Cam, with all four recording up to 2.5K video. They can recognize people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles, and packages, tying into alerts and automations in the Home app.

The LG Video Doorbell uses dual cameras: a front camera that records in 2.5K and a bottom camera in full HD aimed at packages near the door. It has a built‑in spotlight, and its chime sound plays through Apple HomeView, HomePod, and HomePod mini, so you can hear it around the house. The Floodlight Cam adds adaptive dual floodlights and low‑light color night vision to light up driveways or yards and capture clearer footage at night.

For more flexible mounting outside, the plug‑in LG Outdoor Cam includes low‑light color night vision and an adjustable angle, which can help focus on a specific area like a gate or side yard. The plug‑in LG Indoor Cam tilts up to monitor a room and tilts back down to stop monitoring when the first household member arrives home. All of the cameras have built‑in storage so recording can continue during Wi‑Fi outages, and footage syncs back once the connection is restored.

Camera Storage and iCloud+ Requirements

Apple Home Collection cameras rely on iCloud+ for video history instead of a separate camera subscription. Event video history is stored in iCloud for 10 days and requires an iCloud+ plan at one of three storage tiers. The 50GB plan covers one camera, the 200GB plan covers up to five cameras, and the 2TB plan covers an unlimited number of cameras in the home.

Apple is also tying Apple Intelligence features into these cameras for people on eligible iCloud+ plans. With those plans, you can get video summaries and natural‑language search across recorded footage. That means you can ask for clips based on what happened, like finding when a package arrived or when a car pulled into the driveway, instead of scrubbing through a long timeline. Some of these features are limited by the number of cameras, depending on the plan.

LG Smart Deadbolt Lock with Ultra Wideband

The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock in Apple Home Collection uses Ultra Wideband to make getting through the front door feel more automatic. When someone with a home key on a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch approaches, the lock can detect them and unlock on its own. It also supports tap to unlock, an integrated PIN pad for entry codes, and a hidden backup key slot if you want a physical key as a fallback.

The lock monitors the door’s state and can tell whether it is open, closed, or being tampered with. Guest access is shared through the Home app, so you can send digital keys instead of leaving spares under a mat. The lock is Matter compatible, supports Aliro, and works locally so core access functions continue without an internet connection. Paired with the LG Video Doorbell, it forms a coordinated front‑door system for seeing and controlling entry from the same Apple Home setup.

Thermostats and Sensors from LG and Schneider

For climate control, Apple Home Collection adds two smart thermostats and two room sensors built for Apple’s platform and Matter. The LG Smart Thermostat and Schneider Home Smart Thermostat work with a broad range of HVAC systems and feature on‑device wire detection to help during installation. The LG Temperature Sensor and Schneider Home Room Sensor extend temperature readings to more rooms, which helps the thermostats make better decisions.

Adaptive Temperature uses activity and context to adjust heating and cooling based on whether you are home, winding down, or away. Clean Energy Guidance is available in the contiguous United States for people on compatible utility plans, helping shift usage toward cleaner energy times. The thermostats can also read sensors in Apple HomeView, HomePod, and HomePod mini, using those extra data points to manage comfort around the home. They are designed to be DIY‑friendly, and C‑wire adapters are sold separately for homes that need extra power for the thermostats.

What You Need to Use Apple Home Collection

Apple Home Collection is built around Apple’s own devices and services, so there are a few basic requirements. Setup uses an iPhone running the latest software, which pairs accessories with a single NFC tap. For remote access and automations, you need a home hub such as Apple HomeView, HomePod (2nd generation), HomePod mini, or Apple TV 4K.

To store camera history, an iCloud+ plan is required, with 50GB, 200GB, and 2TB tiers that cover different numbers of cameras. Apple Intelligence video features also need an eligible iCloud+ plan and setup on an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad. For people who prefer to have someone else handle the wiring and mounting, Apple Retail will offer professional installation from ADT in the United States for an extra charge, starting this fall. Once set up, everything is controlled in the Apple Home app with end‑to‑end encrypted data.

Where and When Apple Home Collection Will Be Sold

Apple plans to roll out Apple Home Collection across its direct channels over several months. The first accessories arrive starting in December 2026 on apple.com, through the Apple Store app, and in Apple Store locations, with some products following in early 2027. All of the accessories carry LG or Schneider Home branding, even though they are designed in partnership with Apple for the Apple Home experience.

Availability is split by region and product type. The LG cameras, including the Video Doorbell, Floodlight Cam, Outdoor Cam, and Indoor Cam, will be available in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock, the LG and Schneider smart thermostats, and their room sensors will be sold in the United States and Canada. Together, the collection is aimed at giving Apple Home users a more complete front door, security, and climate setup with gear that is built to work together from the start.
