Airthings has announced the release of Corentium Home 2, a new digital radon detector for home use. This device comes after years of development and was first shown at CES 2025. Corentium Home 2 is now available for purchase by the general public. The company is already known for its indoor air quality and radon monitors, and more than one million homeowners use their products worldwide. Airthings says the new detector is meant to help regular people test for radon easily in their homes.

Radon is a gas that can build up indoors, and it is linked to serious health risks. About a quarter of people in the United States live in places with high radon exposure. Long-term contact with radon can lead to lung cancer, which is the top cause of this disease in nonsmokers in both the United States and Canada. Every year, more than 21,000 people in the United States die from radon-related lung cancer. Despite this, research from Airthings shows that most Americans, about three out of every four, have never checked their homes for radon. Many people find the process confusing or assume it is too hard.

Testing for Radon is easy with the Airthings Corentium Home 2

Corentium Home 2 has several new features. The detector uses improved sensor technology, which is supposed to give more reliable results than the older version. The device connects to the Airthings app, which uses digital tools and artificial intelligence to give users information and advice that is specific to their home’s radon levels. The app will soon have a feature that lets people compare their radon readings to those of nearby homes. This can help them see if their levels are higher or lower than average. Users can also see graphs that show how radon levels change over time in their homes.

Along with the new detector, Airthings updated RadonMap.com, a free site that lets people look up radon data by entering their address. The map uses information from homes in different states and regions, and it also offers tips and resources for home radon testing. This tool is meant to help people learn more about the risk in their area before deciding to test their own home.

Corentium Home 2 be bought from the Airthings website, Amazon, and in many stores, including Target, Home Depot, and Best Buy across the United States and Canada. Buyers can use the free Airthings app with their detector to view their radon data. More app features are expected to come out later in the year.
