A significant portion of the global population, approximately one in three individuals, live with multiple chronic conditions, affecting around 2.7 billion people worldwide. In the United States, this issue is more pronounced, with an estimated 42% of citizens affected by conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, kidney disease, and respiratory illnesses.

These chronic conditions often contribute to depression and behavioral health issues, imposing substantial physical, psychological, and emotional challenges on patients. Non-adherence to care plans is a significant issue, with 50% of treatment failures resulting from patients not following prescribed medication regimens, lifestyle changes, and vitals monitoring. This issue typically arises at home, beyond clinical supervision.

Electronic Caregiver has introduced Addison Care, an AI-driven 3D Virtual Caregiver that operates continuously in patients’ homes. Addison is designed to monitor and improve treatment adherence, conduct automated wellness checks, manage medication schedules, and assist with daily tasks. The system is now available on Samsung tablets, mobile devices, and other smart home devices. At HLTH 2024 in Las Vegas, Addison will be demonstrated on Samsung tablets and integrated with the Galaxy Watch7, which includes FDA-approved vitals monitoring capabilities.

The collaboration between Electronic Caregiver and Samsung aims to enhance digital health and connected care, benefiting patients from clinical settings to their homes. This innovation addresses the needs of chronically ill patients, aging adults, and family caregivers by combining Electronic Caregiver’s Addison Care with Samsung’s technology. The solutions offered aim to improve care outcomes, reduce social isolation, support mental health, extend independence, and enhance quality of life.

Addison employs a three-phase strategy comprising engagement and assistance, continuous health monitoring, and companionship and connectivity. The system is designed to be patient-centric, accommodating personal choices, cultural preferences, and health circumstances. Addison is available for various settings, including home, hospital, senior living communities, and home care providers.
