TCL has announced new smart lock products at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The company introduced two models: the upgraded D2 Pro Palm Vein Smart Lock and the new D2L Fingerprint Lever Lock. Both locks are designed for homes that use connected devices and smart home platforms. TCL states that these smart locks support Matter over Thread, which lets them work with a wide range of smart home systems. Both models are certified to meet BHMA Grade 3 standards, which are used to measure the strength and durability of locks.

The D2 Pro Palm Vein Smart Lock uses palm vein recognition technology for access. This means the lock scans the pattern of veins in a person’s palm as a way to identify them. This method does not require physical contact, which can help reduce the spread of germs. The D2 Pro is an upgrade to a previous TCL model and is designed for people looking for more security features in their home. The palm vein recognition works alongside other unlock methods, such as passcodes or mechanical keys, giving users several ways to get into their homes.

The new D2L Fingerprint Lever Lock uses fingerprint recognition. This model is focused on making it easy for people to unlock their doors by simply placing a finger on the sensor. It is designed as a lever-style handle, which can be helpful for people who want a lock that is easy to use and does not require a key. Both the D2 Pro and D2L models work with Matter, a smart home standard that helps different brands and devices talk to each other. Support for Matter over Thread means the locks can connect directly to many smart home networks and can be controlled using other Matter-compatible devices.

These locks are also certified to meet BHMA Grade 3 standards, which means they have passed tests for things like impact, durability, and resistance to picking. This level of certification is common for residential locks in the United States. TCL is offering these locks to people who want to add smart features to their home security setup, while still having options for physical keys or codes.

The announcement from TCL was made during the Consumer Electronics Show, a major trade event for consumer technology held each year in Las Vegas. TCL’s smart lock lineup is part of a larger trend of adding more technology and connectivity to everyday home products. The company says it is focused on making its smart locks compatible with other devices and platforms, which gives users more control and flexibility in how they secure their homes. The new D2 Pro Palm Vein Smart Lock and D2L Fingerprint Lever Lock are expected to be available after CES 2026, though TCL did not provide a specific release date or pricing details in the press release.
