Ring has announced a new set of home security devices and features aimed at improving both video quality and user experience. The latest lineup includes cameras and doorbells that now feature Retinal Vision technology with options for 2K and 4K video resolution. These cameras are designed to capture clearer and more detailed footage, which could help users see what is happening around their property with more accuracy. The new devices include the Wired Doorbell Pro, Spotlight Cam Pro, Floodlight Cam Pro, and Outdoor Cam Pro, with Power over Ethernet versions available for some models. The company states that the Retinal Vision technology uses artificial intelligence to improve video quality, including better zoom and low-light performance.

One of the main updates involves new AI-driven features that aim to make home monitoring more useful and less intrusive. The Alexa+ Greetings option turns Alexa into a door attendant that can interact with visitors. With this feature, Alexa can speak to solicitors, handle delivery instructions, and answer the door on behalf of the homeowner. The Familiar Faces feature uses recognition software to identify people the system already knows, which means users can cut down on notifications triggered by family members or regular visitors. This helps focus attention on unexpected activity rather than routine movements.

Another new feature is called Search Party, which focuses on helping reunite lost pets with their owners. The company points out that last year, more than a million posts about lost or found pets appeared in the Ring Neighbors app. With Search Party, if someone reports a missing dog, nearby Ring cameras look for the pet using AI and send alerts if there is a possible sighting. Users can then review the footage and decide whether to share the information with their neighbors. Ring stresses that users remain in control of their privacy throughout the process.

The new lineup also brings 2K Retinal Vision to two indoor-focused products: the Indoor Cam Plus and Wired Doorbell Plus. These upgrades offer higher pixel density and improved clarity for users who want to monitor inside their homes. The focus with these updates is to give users a clearer and more dependable view of their property, which could help when reviewing footage or checking in remotely.

According to Ring, the Search Party feature will begin rolling out in November, starting with dogs and expanding to cats and other pets later. The Alexa+ Greetings and Familiar Faces features are scheduled to be available by December. Ring maintains that these updates continue its mission to make neighborhoods safer by using technology that helps people stay connected and aware of what is happening around them.

The company is also rolling out new Echo devices with better sound, improved processing, and upgraded sensors to work with the Alexa+ assistant. These updates are intended to make AI-powered home devices more responsive and helpful. With these changes, Ring is focusing on giving users more control, clearer video, and a wider set of tools for managing security and daily tasks.
