OBLO, a leading player in the smart home industry, recently announced joining the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) and integrating Matter protocol support into its innovative smart home solution. Matter, an industry-unifying standard, aims to simplify smart homes by ensuring that smart devices seamlessly work with each other across different platforms and ecosystems. This move perfectly aligns with OBLO’s mission to provide users with cohesive and connected smart home experiences.
To showcase their commitment to this initiative, OBLO will be demonstrating a Matter bridge in action at the upcoming IBC 2023 exhibition. This Matter bridge will be integrated into an existing smart home solution running on an Android set-top box. By doing so, OBLO is empowering its customers with enhanced interoperability and a wider range of choices.
OBLO serves a central hub between smart home devices. It allows them to communicate with each other and with your smart phone. It includes all of the major communication technologies such as zigbee, Z-wave, IP ( basic computer networking ), Bluetooth, and more.
Istvan Papp, the VP of Engineering at OBLO, expressed his excitement about this development, stating, “Matter empowers us to offer our customers enhanced interoperability and greater choice. Through our smart home platform and mobile apps, we enable OBLO customers in both commercial and residential markets to provide a wide range of digital services, including HEMS, security, safety, and home care. This, in turn, creates a truly connected and intelligent home environment.”
