The 137th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, ran in Guangzhou from April 15 to May 5, 2025. Haier Small Domestic Appliances (SDA) introduced its products there under a theme centered on artificial intelligence for the home. The event focused on connecting global businesses and creating opportunities for collaboration. Haier SDA brought attention to its lineup, reflecting its commitment to incorporating AI into home appliances with the aim of enhancing user experiences.
The main focus of Haier’s display was its AI-enhanced products. The company featured an AI-powered ironing machine that has the capability to detect different fabric types and adjust its settings automatically. This feature is designed to deliver optimal ironing results. Other manufacturers have gone after the same wrinkle problem inside the drum, as Dreame did with its wrinkle-fighting washers and dryers. Another product on display was a dual-compression dehumidifier, which is designed to combine energy-saving features with intelligent control of humidity levels. Humidity control sits alongside the air-quality gear many smart homes already run. These products exemplify Haier’s efforts to bring advanced technological solutions into practical applications, addressing user needs and improving daily living conditions.
Beyond displaying advanced technology, Haier SDA pointed to its strategy for expanding its global presence through localized approaches. This strategy involves developing products that are specifically tailored to meet the needs and preferences of different regions. By adapting its offerings to match local consumer expectations and regulatory standards, Haier aims to strengthen its position in international markets and cater to a diverse customer base. That international push has kept the company on Kantar’s BrandZ Top 100 for eight straight years.
Haier SDA also used the Canton Fair as an opportunity to communicate its brand message, which emphasizes a dedication to understanding consumer needs and creating solutions that simplify and enhance everyday life. The use of AI in their products is part of their broader effort to make home living smarter and more convenient.
As of September 2026, Haier has not announced pricing or availability for either the AI-powered ironing machine or the dual-compression dehumidifier. Neither appeared in the company’s IFA 2025 small-appliance lineup, which centered on coffee machines, air fryers, and floor care.
Looking ahead, Haier SDA plans to continue its focus on user-driven product development as part of its strategy to expand its global reach and foster international partnerships. The company intends to use platforms like the Canton Fair to further its mission of developing smarter living solutions through advanced technology.
