Blink is rolling out two new budget-friendly video doorbells with sharper 2K video, smarter alerts, and a choice between wired or battery power. The Blink Wired Doorbell 2K+ and Blink Battery Doorbell 2K+ are both designed to give a clearer view of your front door and quicker updates about what triggered a motion alert.
Both models shoot in 2K resolution, which means more detail than the original 1080p Blink doorbells. They also add improved dynamic range, so faces, clothing, and packages are easier to see even when the sun is bright or your porch is in shadow. The idea is to bring what you’d expect from higher-end video doorbells down to a price that fits more budgets.
The wired model is Blink’s first doorbell that runs only on existing doorbell wiring. In the U.S., it is priced at $49.99 and is meant for homes that already have a wired chime. Because it is always powered, you do not have to think about swapping batteries, and you get consistent performance. The 2K resolution and upgraded image handling are aimed at giving you a clearer look at visitors and anything else happening at your front door.
If you prefer not to deal with wiring, the Blink Battery Doorbell 2K+ is built for flexible installation. It can be mounted almost anywhere within Wi‑Fi range, making it a better fit for renters or spots without existing doorbell wiring. This version adds a “head-to-toe” field of view, so you can see the full height of a person standing at your door along with packages on the ground. It also benefits from the same 2K resolution and improved visibility in bright daylight or low light, compared to the earlier battery-powered Blink doorbell.
A big change with both new models is smarter alerts through Blink’s cloud-based Video Descriptions, available in the U.S. with a Blink AI Basic or Blink AI Plus subscription. Instead of just getting a generic motion alert, you receive a short text summary of what triggered the recording. For example, the app might describe a person walking up to the door or a package being dropped off, so you can decide quickly whether you need to open the clip or not. These summaries are meant to cut down on time spent reviewing footage while still keeping you aware of activity around your home.
Both doorbells are built to slot into the existing Blink smart home setup. You manage them through the Blink app, where you can view live video, get notifications, and adjust settings. Installation is designed to be quick whether you go with the wired or battery model, and they are intended to work with other Blink cameras so you can cover more areas of your property.
Blink Wired Doorbell 2K+ and Blink Battery Doorbell 2K+ are available for pre-order in multiple countries, including the U.S., Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Prices start at $39.99 in the U.S., depending on configuration, and local pricing can vary by region. With the mix of 2K video, AI-powered motion summaries in supported markets, and a choice between wired and battery setups, these new doorbells are aimed at people who want clearer home monitoring without paying premium prices.
