LG Electronics has announced a new range of laundry machines that use artificial intelligence and are designed to save energy. The new laundry products are made to fit the needs of people in Europe, where there is a strong interest in appliances that use less power and work well in smaller homes.

The main product in this new range is the LG HeatPump WasherDryer, also called the LG WashCombo. This machine combines a washer and a dryer into one unit. The earlier version of this product was part of LG’s high-end SIGNATURE line and was first brought to Europe. That model received the top Energy Class A rating for its full cycle, which means it uses less power from start to finish. The new version keeps that same rating. It uses a DUAL Inverter HeatPump and a low global warming potential refrigerant called R290. These features help the machine use less energy while meeting strict European standards. The washer-dryer is built to fit under counters and can handle large loads, which helps save space in homes. It also uses artificial intelligence to adjust settings for different types of fabric.

LG is also focusing on reducing the environmental impact of doing laundry. The new washers include a Microplastic Care Cycle, which can cut down the release of microplastics from synthetic clothes by up to 60 percent. This is based on tests done by Intertek in 2023. The AI motion control in these washers helps to lower energy use even more. The washers include a function called AI Wash, which uses sensors to weigh the clothes and pick the best wash pattern to protect fabrics and use less energy.

The new dryers from LG also meet the top standard for energy use, with an Energy Class A rating. The dryers use AI Dual Inverter technology. The AI Dry feature checks the weight, fabric type, and moisture of the laundry. It adjusts the drying process to use less power and to take better care of soft fabrics.

LG has added some features that make it easier for people to install and use these machines themselves, which is common in Europe. The LG ThinQ app can check if the machines are set up right. There is also a Comfort Kit for the new 24-inch models, which is meant to make the machines easier to use in different types of homes.

With this new group of laundry products, LG is trying to meet the needs of European customers who want appliances that save energy, take up less space, and are easy to use. The machines have simple displays and controls, and they come in different colors to fit with modern home designs. LG says that these products are the result of learning about how people in Europe do their laundry and what they want from home appliances. The company’s president for home appliances, Lyu Jae-cheol, said that these insights help LG make products that better fit local needs and help the brand stay strong in the European market.
