iRobot has announced the Roomba Mini, a new robot vacuum and mop that is smaller than previous Roomba models and aimed at homes where space is limited. The Roomba Mini is built to get into tight areas that are hard to reach with stick vacuums or standard size robot vacuums. It can both vacuum and mop, and it is designed to move under furniture and through narrow gaps. The company positions it as a compact option that still offers strong cleaning performance for apartments and houses where every inch of floor space matters.

The Roomba Mini Robot Vacuum & Mop + AutoEmpty Dock is about half the size of earlier Roomba models based on volume and cleaning coverage when compared to the Roomba 105. It comes in four colors, which are pink, mint, white, and black, and has a low-profile, space-saving body. It is built to work in tight spaces, small rooms, and narrow hallways, with a focus on cleaning edges, corners, and areas around furniture legs. For mopping, it uses disposable pads that are made to trap dust, dirt, and grime, and they leave a light citrus scent on the floor after cleaning.

The product was first created for smaller Japanese homes, where floor plans often have compact rooms and tight walkways. It launched in Japan in mid-February, and the company reports that the black color version has already sold out in that market. iRobot now sees the same need in European homes, where many apartments and older houses also have smaller rooms and more limited space. As a result, the Roomba Mini is being introduced across the United Kingdom and Europe to meet that type of demand. Its size and design are meant to work with a range of floor plans rather than just wide, open layouts.

The Roomba Mini uses ClearView LiDAR technology to map and move around a home. This helps the robot detect and avoid clutter on the floor and steer around objects instead of bumping into them. When in mopping mode, this system also helps it avoid rugs, so it does not get them wet. The robot can return to its AutoEmpty Dock, which automatically empties the dustbin into an AllergenLock bag. According to iRobot, this bag can hold up to three months of debris under normal use, and it is sealed to keep dust and allergens contained.

Control options for the Roomba Mini are set up to be flexible and simple. Users can start and manage cleaning jobs through the iRobot Home app, which lets them schedule, start, or stop the robot from a phone. The device also works with popular voice assistants, including Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant-enabled devices, for hands-free control. For those who do not want to connect the robot to Wi-Fi, there is a physical button on the robot itself that can be pressed to start a cleaning session without any app or network connection.

The Roomba Mini Robot Vacuum & Mop + AutoEmpty Dock is now available through iRobot.com in the United Kingdom and across Europe. iRobot notes that this model joins its wider range of consumer robots, which the company has been developing since it launched the first Roomba robot vacuum in 2002. Over time, the company has worked on cleaning, mapping, and navigation technologies aimed at helping users keep floors cleaner with less day-to-day work. More details about the Roomba Mini and other products are listed on the company’s website at www.irobot.com.
