Google has announced some changes regarding its Nest Learning Thermostat products in Europe. After fourteen years of making smart thermostats, the company is shifting its approach in the European market. The Nest Learning Thermostat was first introduced over a decade ago and has gone through several versions, with the most recent being the fourth generation. This device is known for helping users save energy and money through smart temperature control.

Heating systems in Europe are different from those in other regions. There is a lot of variety in both hardware and software, which creates extra challenges for companies like Google when designing smart thermostats. Because of these differences, Google has decided it will not release any new Nest thermostat models in Europe in the future. Instead, the company is focusing on its Google Home platform, which lets other smart thermostat companies make products that meet the needs of European homes. This means that while new Nest thermostat models will not be available in Europe, users will have more options from other brands that work with Google’s system.

The existing Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd generation, first released in 2015) and the Nest Thermostat E (released in 2018) will still be available for sale in Europe, but only while supplies last. These models will keep receiving security updates, and users can still control them through both the Nest app and the Google Home app. Google’s support team remains available to help customers with any questions about these products.

Some people may wonder if this decision means that Google is stepping away from making home devices for Europe. The company has made it clear that this is not the case. In the past year, Google released the Google TV Streamer in Europe, which is described as a more premium device for entertainment and smart home use. Google also says that customers in Europe can expect more home devices to become available in the future.

These changes show how Google is adapting its products and services to meet the needs of different markets. While new Nest thermostats will not be coming to Europe, Google is working with other companies to bring smart energy products to users there.
