Samsung Electronics America has introduced three new gaming monitors to its Odyssey series. The new products are the Odyssey OLED G6, which is the first OLED gaming monitor to offer a 500Hz refresh rate, and two Odyssey G7 monitors in 37-inch and 40-inch sizes.

The Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27-inch monitor that is aimed at gamers who want fast and responsive displays. It has a 500Hz refresh rate, which is the highest available for OLED monitors, and a response time of 0.03 milliseconds. The screen uses QD-OLED technology to produce a QHD resolution of 2,560 by 1,440 pixels. The G6 also holds the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, which means it can show deep blacks and bright colors. The monitor supports both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which helps to reduce screen tearing and stuttering during gameplay.
The G6 is designed for long gaming sessions, with features that help avoid common issues like screen reflections and burn-in. It has a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and uses Samsung’s Glare Free technology to limit reflections. A feature called OLED Safeguard+ helps prevent image burn-in, which can be a problem for OLED panels during use over time. The monitor comes with a three-year warranty for added peace of mind. For color accuracy, the G6 is Pantone Validated, meaning it can display over 2,100 colors and more than 110 skin tone shades from the Pantone library.

The Odyssey G7 monitors come in 37-inch and 40-inch curved screen versions. The 37-inch model has a 1000R curve, a 165Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response time. It features a 4K UHD resolution of 3,840 by 2,160 pixels, which shows more detail than standard full HD displays. The 40-inch Odyssey G7 also has a 1000R curve but offers a wider 21:9 aspect ratio and a higher WUHD resolution of 5,120 by 2,160 pixels. This makes it suitable for people who want a panoramic gaming experience. The 40-inch version has a 180Hz refresh rate and split screen options, which allow users to show different content side-by-side or in a picture-in-picture format.
Both G7 monitors are VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified, allowing for deeper blacks and brighter highlights. Like the G6, the G7 monitors support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to help make visuals smoother. There are also features for easier use, including Auto Source Switch+ for changing between devices automatically, and CoreSync technology for matching the monitor’s lighting with the colors on the screen. The ergonomic stands allow users to adjust the tilt and height for comfort during long sessions.
These new monitors are part of Samsung’s ongoing push to offer high-performance options for gamers. With the addition of the Odyssey OLED G6 and the larger G7 monitors, Samsung aims to give users more choices for both competitive and immersive gaming. The monitors include features designed to improve both the gameplay experience and long-term comfort for people who spend a lot of time at their desks.
