Samsung TV Plus is working with SM Entertainment to bring popular K-Pop performances to viewers in celebration of SM Entertainment’s 30th anniversary. This partnership includes the launch of a new SMTOWN channel on Samsung TV Plus. The channel is set to feature a wide range of K-Pop content aimed at fans who want to watch performances, concerts, and related programming from the comfort of their homes.

The first major event for this partnership will be a live concert held at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles on May 11, starting at 6 PM Pacific Time. The concert will include performances from well-known groups and artists such as TVXQ!, SUPER JUNIOR, KEY and MINHO from SHINee, SUHO, CHANYEOL, and KAI from EXO, as well as Red Velvet members IRENE, SEULGI, and JOY. Other groups performing include NCT127, NCT DREAM, WayV, aespa, RIIZE, NCT WISH, Hearts2Hearts, and SMTR25. After the concert, viewers can expect to see replays of the event, along with music videos and playlists, added to the SMTOWN channel.

Samsung TV Plus will provide access to these performances and events across 18 countries. The SMTOWN channel will focus on delivering a variety of K-Pop content, not only giving fans the chance to watch live events but also offering on-demand content. This includes concert replays, music videos, and curated playlists, with more material expected to be added after major events like SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in Los Angeles.

This move supports Samsung TV Plus’ position as a leading provider of K-Content, which includes more than just music. The platform already features K-Dramas, crime shows, thrillers, and romance series from Korea. By adding exclusive K-Pop programming, Samsung TV Plus is working to meet the growing interest in Korean entertainment from a worldwide audience.

Salek Brodsky, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Samsung TV Plus, stated that the partnership with SM Entertainment is part of a larger effort to deliver exclusive experiences to fans and bolster the platform’s K-Content lineup. Brodsky pointed out the ongoing investments Samsung TV Plus is making in this area, and noted that K-Pop’s rising popularity is a key reason for the new channel and live events.
