Samsung Electronics has added a new 37-inch model to its ViewFinity monitor lineup. This new display, called the S8 (S80UD), sits between the existing 27-inch and 32-inch versions. With its larger screen size and 16:9 aspect ratio, the ViewFinity S8 aims to support professional users who need more workspace on their monitors.
The 37-inch ViewFinity S8 offers about 87 percent more screen area compared to the 27-inch model. This larger space can be useful for users who need to keep multiple windows open at once, such as when working on detailed tasks or multitasking with different programs. The UHD resolution helps keep text and images clear, making it easier to read documents or view fine details in videos. The larger display is also designed for group settings, like team meetings or presentations, where a bigger screen can help everyone see content more clearly.
For comfort, the ViewFinity S8 includes features to help reduce eye strain. The monitor has received certification from TÜV Rheinland as an Ergonomic Workspace Display and for its Intelligent Eye Care feature. It includes an eye saver mode that reduces blue light and flicker, which can help make long work sessions more comfortable.
The monitor is set up for multitasking. Its size allows users to have several applications or files open side by side, which can help with productivity. There is no need for a dual monitor setup since the single 37-inch screen can serve the same purpose. The display includes a built-in keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) switch, so users can control two connected devices with one set of peripherals. Other features like picture-by-picture (PBP) and picture-in-picture (PIP) let users display content from two sources at the same time. The monitor also comes with a USB-C port that supports charging and data transfer, as well as a built-in LAN port for network connection.
Setting up the ViewFinity S8 is straightforward. The monitor uses an Easy Setup Stand that can be assembled without tools, and installation can be finished in about 10 seconds. The stand allows for height adjustment, tilting, and swiveling, so users can adjust the screen for the best view.
Samsung is also introducing a 37-inch Odyssey G7 (G75F) monitor aimed at gamers. This model includes a 1000R curved screen, 4K UHD resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response time. It is designed to give a more immersive experience for gaming and will be shown at Gamescom 2025.
With these new additions, Samsung is expanding its monitor offerings to meet the needs of both professional and gaming users. The ViewFinity S8 is built to provide a larger workspace with features that support productivity and comfort, while the Odyssey G7 targets those looking for a large, curved gaming display. Both models show Samsung’s focus on making displays that offer more space and flexibility for different types of users.
