Samsung has announced an expansion of its self-repair program that will include additional models, product categories, and parts. This development enhances the program’s capacity, enabling consumers to perform a broader spectrum of repairs. The expansion is facilitated by Samsung’s partnership with Encompass Supply Chain Solutions, which will supply customers with legitimate parts, tools, and repair guides.

The program now covers nearly 50 Samsung models, incorporating devices such as smartphones, tablets, PCs, select foldable devices, and home entertainment products. The most recent additions to the program include 14 Galaxy smartphone, tablet, and PC models, namely the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and the Galaxy Book2 series. Home entertainment has also been broadened with the inclusion of 20 visual display products, for instance, the Freestyle 2nd Gen projector.

Samsung’s self-repair program, initiated in August 2022, offers a method for customers to prolong the lifespan of their devices. Mark Williams, Samsung Electronics America’s Vice President of Customer Care, expressed that the program’s expansion aims to provide consumers with choice and convenience for device repairs.

Encompass, with its history as a distributor of Samsung OEM parts, supports this initiative. Its President and CEO, Robert Coolidge, noted that the expansion into new categories is crucial for enabling customers to conduct repairs and extend their products’ life.

For home entertainment, consumers can obtain genuine parts, tools, and repair guides from SamsungParts.com for certain 2023 Samsung TVs, monitors, and the Freestyle 2nd Gen projector. These guides address issues related to picture, power, WiFi, sound, and remote control functionality. Some soundbar repairs for 2023 models can also be performed using common tools like a Phillips-head screwdriver.

Samsung’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in its efforts to empower consumers to maintain their devices for longer periods, thereby reducing electronic waste. The company emphasizes product lifecycle extension, durability, and repairability from the early stages of product development.

The self-repair program is part of Samsung’s comprehensive customer care mission, which also includes walk-in, mail-in, and at-home services. All repairs are supported by Samsung-certified professionals using genuine Samsung parts.
