Samsung Electronics has announced that a new collection of artwork and photography from Vogue is now available for owners of Samsung Art TVs through the Samsung Art Store. The Vogue Collection features 20 well-known photographs and artworks from the magazine’s history, dating back over 100 years. This release is part of Samsung’s ongoing effort to add new and popular art to its digital platform, which is offered on several Samsung TV models.
Vogue, first published in 1892, has long been recognized as a leader in fashion, known for its creative and stylish imagery. The new collection includes images from the magazine’s archives, such as classic covers and editorial spreads. Each piece in the collection was selected by curators at Vogue and by Daria Greene, who leads content and curation for Samsung. These selections came from Vogue’s archive of about 400,000 pieces. The goal is to give Samsung TV users access to a mix of well-known and influential images from the fashion world.
Some of the images in the collection include a photograph by Cecil Beaton from 1948 showing gowns by designer Charles James, as well as “The Divers,” a 1930 photo by George Hoyningen-Huene that was created on the roof of Vogue’s studio in Paris. There’s also a 1976 photo by Duane Michals featuring Beverly Johnson, the first Black model to appear on the cover of Vogue, along with other models. More images in the collection show model Iman in a Yves Saint Laurent skirt, and Rene Russo in Arequipa, both taken in the 1970s. These photos are meant to show how fashion photography is not just about clothes but also about capturing moments and ideas from different periods.
The Samsung Art Store already features more than 4,000 works of art from artists, museums, and galleries around the world. This includes paintings from well-known artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Salvador Dalí, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Keith Haring. Samsung also works with major partners like Art Basel, MoMA, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art to add exclusive content to its store. The addition of Vogue’s images adds another layer to the variety available, appealing to both fans of fashion and of art.
The Art Store is available on several Samsung TVs, including The Frame and The Frame Pro. The Frame Pro features a Neo QLED screen for improved color and contrast, along with a Wireless One Connect Box for easier installation and fewer visible cables. The TV is also customizable, with different bezel options and anti-reflection technology to make the displayed art look more realistic. This year, Samsung has also brought the Art Store to its Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, and QLED series, allowing more users to access and display art in their homes.
Samsung’s partnership with Vogue is another step in its plan to keep expanding the type of content offered in the Art Store. By working with well-known brands and cultural leaders, Samsung aims to give users more ways to enjoy art at home. The Vogue Collection is now available to millions of Samsung TV users, giving them the chance to display some of the most famous images from fashion history right on their own walls.
