OBLO, an IoT solution provider known for smart home solutions, has announced its plans to reveal its new Matter controller functionality at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in Las Vegas. The company’s smart home solution is recognized for its extensive support of multiple protocols, including ZigBee, Z-Wave, Philips Hue, Modbus, among others. This multi-protocol support allows for the seamless integration of various communication standards.
In 2023, OBLO joined the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) with the goal to ensure its smart home solutions are compliant with the Matter standard, which is a new and unifying industry standard for smart home connectivity. Previously, at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in September 2023, OBLO demonstrated its smart home solution on a set-top-box device that featured Matter bridge functionality. This functionality enabled Matter controllers from companies like Google and Apple to control and voice-command smart home devices connected to the OBLO smart home controller.
Continuing this development, OBLO is set to introduce the first implementation of Matter controller functionality at CES 2024. This will allow customers of telecom operators using the OBLO smart home app to control and monitor smart home devices that are compliant with the Matter standard. In addition to providing this functionality, OBLO also offers its expertise in the development of various smart home devices like dimmers, outlets, relays, and sensors. The company invites other companies to collaborate for achieving Matter compliance for their smart home devices.
The certification process for the Matter controller is expected to be completed by the end of January 2024. This step underscores OBLO’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art smart home solutions that are interoperable with a wide range of devices.
