Samsung has expanded its smart home product lineup by offering Eve devices for purchase directly through Samsung.com. This is the first time that users can buy select partner smart home products alongside Samsung’s own devices. Eve is among the first brands to be featured as a “Works with SmartThings” partner on the website. SmartThings is Samsung’s platform for connecting and managing smart devices in the home. By adding Eve to the platform, Samsung aims to make setting up a smart home more straightforward for users.
Eve is recognized for smart home products that are designed to be simple to use and energy-saving. One of the main products now available is the Eve Energy Smart Plug. This device allows users to turn almost any household appliance into a smart device by plugging it into the smart plug. Once set up, users can control the device from their phone, set it to turn on or off based on daily routines, or even use voice commands. The smart plug also works with SmartThings Energy, a service in the SmartThings app that tracks and reports on energy use.
By connecting appliances to the Eve Energy Smart Plug, users can monitor real-time energy consumption and view trends over time. The SmartThings app shows how much electricity each connected device is using and can predict annual costs. This information makes it easier for users to identify which appliances are using the most energy, such as fans or lights that may be left on overnight. SmartThings Energy also gives personalized tips for saving power, helping users reduce waste and lower their bills.
Samsung’s latest TVs come with a built-in SmartThings Hub that has Matter over Thread functionality. This means they can connect directly to Matter-enabled devices like Eve Energy without the need for extra hardware. From the SmartThings Quick Panel on the TV, users can turn connected devices on or off, check their status, and manage settings without leaving the couch. This is done by pressing the 123 keys on the Samsung TV remote and selecting the SmartThings icon.
Eve devices are designed to be easy for anyone to set up, regardless of technical skill. They work with both Android and iOS devices and can be grouped together in the SmartThings app. This lets users automate routines, such as creating a “Movie Night” scene that adjusts lights, closes blinds, and switches on the TV with a single command. Motion sensors can also be used to trigger actions, like turning on lights when someone enters a room.
With Eve now available on Samsung.com, users have more options when starting or expanding their smart home setup. Samsung plans to add more “Works with SmartThings” partners in the future, giving customers a wider selection of compatible devices to choose from. For those interested in making their home more connected and easier to manage, Eve products can now be found alongside Samsung’s own offerings online.
