The Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D Printer is a desktop machine designed for personal and small-scale use. It has a compact footprint, which makes it fit on most work tables or desks. It comes ready to print out of the box, with most of the setup already done at the factory. This makes the A1 Mini super easy for beginner 3D printers to get started with. The A1 Mini supports automatic bed leveling, so users do not have to adjust the print surface by hand. This can help prints stick better and reduces the chances of errors during printing.

The printer works with standard 1.75 mm filament, including types like PLA and PETG. The printer uses Fused Deposition Modeling, which is a common 3D printing method. This means that it fuses and deposits materials to print objects. The A1 Mini supports automatic multi-color printing when paired with an AMS, or you can manually change filament colors for each layer (although this gets old fast).

It can connect to a home network using Wi-Fi, which allows prints to be sent over the air. There is also a touchscreen on the front, which lets users start prints and check on progress. Safety features include automatic shutoff and sensors that let users know if the filament runs out or gets jammed during a print.

The Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D Printer is designed for people who want to try 3D printing at home or in a classroom. It does not take up much space, and it works with common software used for making 3D prints. The printer can be used to make spare parts, small toys, or models for hobbies. It comes with guides to help new users get started with their first prints.

Sending items to the printer is easy with the Bambu app and Wi-Fi

I have been using the Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D printer for about 6 months. My first print was a Benchy, and the printer just worked right out of the box. The process was simple. Most of the time, I just pick a model from the Bambu website and send it to the printer. The machine takes care of the rest. Even when I want to change something, like resizing a model, slicing it in half, or flipping it around, the printer handles it without problems. Prints come out looking clean, even when I have made changes to the files.

Some people say they have trouble with the prints sticking to the plate, but I have not had that problem. I am exceedingly cautious not to touch the print plate with my hands and keep it clean. Even clean hands will have grease on them that can cause a print to fail to stick. So not touching the print plate helps a lot. There are also comments from other users about needing to print a bunch of extra parts for the printer itself. While it felt that way at first, once I printed things like a poop basket, a scraper handle, some rail covers, and clips for the wires, I did not need much else for the printer.

After that, I moved on to more useful items, like cases for Raspberry Pi computers, Minecraft lanterns, plant towers, and even shelves for my monitor. The Bambu website is great for sourcing ready-to-print models, and I quickly found myself making a wish list of things to print out. I have found the Bambu Lab A1 Mini to be easy to use for both simple and custom projects. It is a good option for people who want to get into 3D printing without a long learning curve. The hobby can get a bit addictive, and I keep finding new things to make.

One thing I do regret about this printer is that I did not buy the AMS bundle when I got it. I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy 3D printing, or if the AMS was that big of a deal. It is. Get the AMS bundle if you are thinking of getting a Bambu A1 Mini 3D printer and thank me later.
