Aqara, a provider of smart home products, has announced the addition of the Ceiling Light T1M to its smart lighting lineup. This new lighting fixture is designed to offer both white light and a colorful gradient ring. It is suitable for room sizes ranging from 5 to 20 square meters and features a range of warm-to-cool white light (2700-6500K), as well as up to 16 million colors. The product is aimed at creating varied lighting atmospheres for different moods or events.
The Ceiling Light T1M includes an independently addressable RGB ring which enables it to be part of a smart home system, providing visual notifications or alerts for events such as a doorbell ring or a triggered security system. This feature is particularly beneficial for the hearing impaired, as it allows the light to serve as a visual alarm when connected to compatible smart security systems.
Compatible with major platforms like Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home through an Aqara hub, the T1M supports Matter and is designed to be a future-proof addition to smart homes. It also has energy-saving benefits due to the low idle power consumption characteristic of the Zigbee protocol and serves as a repeater to enhance the network range and responsiveness. The device maintains local automation capabilities even without an internet connection.
The Ceiling Light T1M, with a Color Rendering Index (Ra) of 90, promises accurate color representation and has been tested to last up to 50,000 hours. This product expands Aqara’s smart lighting offerings, building on the success of the LED Strip T1. The T1M can integrate with other Aqara devices, such as sensors and switches, to automate lighting and save energy.
