A recent report from Parks Associates shows that Amazon smart speakers now make up 60 percent of all smart speaker purchases in the United States. This new data points to Amazon’s strong position in the voice-controlled device market, as more people continue to bring these products into their homes. The report also looks at trends in how people are using smart speakers and what features they value most when picking one.

Parks Associates, a market research firm, shared these findings as part of their ongoing work tracking connected home devices. According to their update, Amazon’s Echo line, powered by the Alexa voice assistant, is leading sales by a wide margin compared to other brands. The study draws from surveys of U.S. households with internet service, focusing on those who have recently bought smart speakers. The 60 percent figure shows that Amazon is still the top choice, even as other companies like Google and Apple try to grow their market share.

The research also points out some reasons behind Amazon’s popularity. Many buyers say they choose Amazon smart speakers for their low prices, wide range of models, and how well they work with other smart home products. People who already use Amazon services, such as Prime, often pick Echo speakers so they can connect music, shopping, and home control in one place. The report notes that homes with more than one smart speaker often have at least one Amazon device, showing that the brand is a common starting point for those building out smart home systems.

The study mentions that Google smart speakers, including those with Google Assistant, hold the second spot in market share. Apple’s HomePod speakers make up a smaller part of the market. Parks Associates says that while some buyers are interested in features like sound quality or privacy controls, price and how easily the device connects to other products tend to matter more. As more people look for ways to control lights, thermostats, and security through voice commands, speakers that offer simple connections and work with a lot of third-party devices have an advantage.

Finally, the report suggests that the smart speaker market is likely to keep growing as new households buy their first device and others add more units to different rooms. Parks Associates plans to keep tracking how people use voice assistants and what new features might make buyers choose one brand over another. For now, Amazon’s Echo line remains the top choice for most shoppers in the United States, accounting for the majority of recent smart speaker purchases.
