Amazon has announced updates to its Fire TV devices, bringing new products and features to improve how people watch TV. The new lineup covers a range of budgets and needs, from affordable streaming sticks to high-end televisions with smarter features. The updates focus on making it easy to find and enjoy entertainment, whether you are looking for movies, live sports, or your favorite TV shows.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K Select is designed for users who want 4K streaming at a lower price. It brings strong picture quality with HDR10+ support and works with most streaming apps. The stick uses a new operating system called Vega, which helps apps launch quickly. The device is also prepared for future support of Xbox Gaming, Luna, and Alexa+. This makes it a good choice for someone looking to get 4K streaming without spending a lot.
In the television range, Amazon has introduced new models in the Fire TV 2-Series, 4-Series, and the higher-end Omni QLED Series. The Omni QLED Series comes in sizes from 50 inches to 75 inches. These TVs are brighter than earlier models, have more dimming zones for better contrast, and use Dolby Vision and HDR10+ Adaptive for a better picture. An improved processor makes the TV faster than before. The TV can adjust its display based on your room’s lighting, show your photos or artwork when you enter, and power down to save energy when you leave. This is possible because of Omnisense technology, which is now also available in the 2-Series and 4-Series models. The 2-Series delivers HD quality, while the 4-Series offers 4K resolution. Both have thinner bezels and are 30% faster than the versions they replace. A new feature called Dialogue Boost lets you increase the volume of voices without making background noise louder.
A main part of the update is Alexa+, Amazon’s improved voice assistant for entertainment. Alexa+ can suggest shows or movies based on what you have watched before, find family-friendly content, or pull up something with your favorite actor. It works across many streaming services like Prime Video, Netflix, and HBO Max. Alexa+ can answer questions about actors, filming locations, or soundtracks while you watch, and can even help you find live sports or get stats. There is also a feature that lets you search for specific scenes in movies and TV shows, with support for more titles coming soon.
The Fire TV devices also come with changes to the software to make finding and watching content easier. The Continue Watching row lets you return to shows and movies you have started but not finished. Live TV and sports are now easier to find from the home screen, and a new channel guide offers personalized recommendations. You can now save all your shows and movies from different streaming services to a single watchlist. These changes are meant to reduce the time spent scrolling and searching so users can get to their content faster.
All of these new devices are available for pre-order and will start shipping next month. Amazon has sold almost 300 million Fire TV devices around the world, and over 250 new televisions with Fire TV built in will launch this year from Amazon and its partners. This new lineup aims to meet the needs of a wide range of viewers, making it easier and quicker to find and enjoy TV, movies, sports, and more.
